Who we are
Established in 1992, Millar Electrics Ltd is an electrical contractor based in Cumnock, East Ayrshire, working primarily across the South West of Scotland. We carry out a wide range of electrical work for domestic, commercial and industrial clients, treating every job as important and doing it professionally at competitive rates.
We work closely with several large contractors and maintain contracts with local authorities, housing associations and other organisations. We are routinely involved in large-scale installation and refurbishment works in Ayrshire, carry out electrical testing and inspection contracts, and offer repairs and maintenance services to local authorities.
Many local businesses trust us with their annual and routine repair work, and we are proud to work for many domestic customers too. We are often asked for immediate or short-term help, and our repeat customers know the effort we will go to in an emergency.
We are within 30 minutes' drive of all parts of Ayrshire, and less than 1 hour from Glasgow.

Our mission
We aim to provide the highest quality electrical services possible in a safe, reliable and efficient manner, while maintaining our customers' satisfaction.
We strive for long-term client relationships, which in turn allow us to secure the development and expansion of the company, our staff and our services.
The health and safety of our staff and customers is our priority. We are members of SSIP organisations and work with Peninsula Business Services, SELECT, the NICEIC and other third parties to keep our technical understanding, safety and workmanship up to date. Our membership of Trusted Trader East Ayrshire (Trading Standards) is a further assurance that we will see every job through to the standard it should be done.
Our insurance levels meet those required by the very largest contracts we work on, from alterations to large public and commercial buildings to setting up industrial welfare sites. Our IT is secure and backed up on site and off site, and we are registered with the ICO.
Leadership
Many of our managers have been with the company for 15 to 20 years or more, and one served his apprenticeship here.
Director
Jim started Millar Electrics over 30 years ago. Overseeing all aspects of the business, he has built a company that has provided careers to over 22 apprentices, employment to many more electricians, and completed jobs for countless satisfied customers.
Accountant
Tom has been with Millar Electrics for over 20 years. A qualified accountant, he manages all our financials, offers sage advice to the company and supports the office and all our staff.
NICEIC Qualified Supervisor
Craig has been with the company for over 20 years and plays an integral role in leading and organising ongoing projects and staff, pricing and arranging works.
NICEIC Qualified Supervisor
Ross joined over 15 years ago. He oversees modernisation contracts, staff and apprentices, health and safety, and liaising with main contractors.
Work Manager
Scott served his apprenticeship with us. He leads repair and maintenance contracts and testing contracts, is our door entry and ventilation expert, and assists the team in all matters of business.
Manager
Andrew joined 10 years ago and plays an important role in office management, job and contract management, client liaison, IT, and assisting with HR, health and safety and staff management.
